How do you explain “Song form” to a 6-year old?

It’s the number of bars in each section of the song.  Shall we count them?

Understanding song form is a lot easier than you might think, especially from the perspective of rhythm tracks.  It simply is how many sections there are and how many bars there are in each.  Some song forms are so popular that they have been given their own name, such as “32-bar AABA” or “16-bar Tune”.  Here’s how you can figure it out for a tune – counting !  Count the number of sections and the number of bars in each section.  In sheet music, bars are separated by a vertical bar ( | ) and sections are separated by a double vertical bar ( || ) – Check out https://alive-drumming.org/hrf_faq/can-i-learn-songform/
